Editing Services
Not every person is the same -- and neither is every paper. Whether you simply need some very basic editing for grammar, style and flow, or you're looking for someone who can help to challenge your ideas and argument in order to achieve that illusive A, I'm excited to help in any way I can. Below are the services I offer, organized into four different packages in order to meet your individual needs, at whatever stage of writing you are. Please note: if you're writing a paper outside of the humanities or social sciences, I only feel comfortable offering basic editing services.
Package One:
Basic Editing Services
If you have the ideas but need some polish, basic editing is probably the best, most efficient choice for you. This service is exactly what it sounds like: editing for grammar, spelling, style and flow. Depending on your preference, I can either use Microsoft Word or hand written notes to annotate your paper. This gives you the choice to disregard any edits I might make with regard to style (which, of course, sometimes is all about personal preference!). This service is $2.00 per page.
Package Three:
Consultation &
Full Editing
If you're striving to do better than "well enough," you might be looking for a fresh perspective on your paper. This service includes an hour-long consultation via FaceTime or Skype so we can discuss the parameters of your assignment and get the creative juices flowing. When you go away to write your paper, I'll also be happy to answer up to three e-mails if you're feeling stuck or need advice on a particular argument. As with basic editing, I'll annotate your paper for grammar, spelling, style and flow, but will also make suggestions as to where your argument might be improved and question statements I feel need more substantiation. Think of this as the "Personal TA" package. This service is $2.50 per page, plus a $30 consulting fee.
Package Two:
Quick Consultation
& Basic Editing
Maybe you've got the basics down, but you're looking to discuss a few areas of the paper you're stuck with. Maybe you just need to lay your ideas out to someone, so you can find out if they make sense. This service offers you a quick consultation with me of up to 30 minutes via Skype or Facetime. As with basic editing, I will then use Microsoft Word or hand written notes to annotate your paper for grammar, spelling, style and flow. This service is $2.00 per page, plus a $15 consulting fee.
Package Four:
Two-draft Consultation
& Full Editing
Maybe you're struggling in a particular class, or maybe this is the course that will help determine whether or not you get into the Law school of your dreams -- either way, you're not messing around. Along with an hour long FaceTime or Skype consultation prior to the beginning of your assignment, this package is for those who are prepared enough ahead of time that they'd like to have both a first and second draft edited. This service includes a second consultation when I return your first draft, in which to discuss major flaws, areas of improvement, and strategiest for the final draft. You're also entitled to up to six e-mails during the writing process if you're stuck or confused. This service is $2.50 per page, plus a $50 consulting fee.
